Description |
Wufongci Waterfall is the oldest and most famous scenic attraction in Jiaosi Township. The name comes from the 5 peaks that line the background of the waterfall which look like a flag from afar. The Wufongci Waterfall is made up of 3 levels that combine for a total length of 100 meters. Outside of a natural pond at the bottom of the waterfall, there are also a few other ponds along the course of the waterfall allowing visitors to engage in water activities. There is also a water area for children to play in. The water here is extremely cool, clean, and clear. A popular scenic spot for family outings during the weekend and holidays visitors pour in to enjoy the cool water and to barbecue. The best way to admire this spectacular waterfall is to stand at the Waterfall Viewing Pavilion to view the water gushing down the canyon. This is also a perfect location to view the surrounding mountains and valley scenery. Walking up the trail past the Earth God Temple near the entrance, you will reach the waterfall source on foot within one hour. There you will discover a few water ponds. By the ponds is a small campsite known as "Wufong Yogu (Five Peaks Serene Valley)" among mountain climbers. The water here is extremely clean and sweet. Many tea lovers have come all the way here just to obtain water for tea brewing. |
